Stories of Trees
Beautiful writing by my dear friend and brilliant author Stacy Moore whose words can actually transform your state of mind while reading them.
Listen to this, from "To Make the Morning Last:"
Whoa, there. Easy. Just breathe for a minute. Slowly.
Taste the air, sense it. Feel it in your lungs.
Come away from the rest of the world, and focus. One word at a time. Don’t skim for meaning. Enter fully into this world, where a raven flies past, rasping, and Western kingbirds chip-chip-chip from the neighbor’s sycamore. Phoebes whistle and blow raspberries from the roof. Someone’s nestlings begin cheeping with high, hungry urgency.
Muse Meditation Device
I've done two research studies using this device, and I've used it personally. It's a wonderful way to teach meditation through neurofeedback, and I've found it particularly helpful to use with older students with ADHD as they often do not know what a calm mind feels like. This device plus the app give real time feedback through sound of the user's current mental state. I think it's brilliant.
